If top-up is enabled on your mobile subscription, the subscription can automatically top up with extra data when the included data allowance has been used.
How data top-up works
You will automatically receive an SMS when you have used 80% of the included data allowance in your mobile subscription and again at 100% usage.
It is possible to top up up to 4 times per month.
You can learn more about how top-up works in practice and how data usage is counted in Denmark and EU+ by reading the scenarios below.
Examples of data usage and top-up
Below are 4 scenarios where a user with a Mobil Verden+ subscription is located in Denmark and/or EU+.
The user's subscription includes 100 GB of data and has an EU+ fair use limit of 50 GB.
In all scenarios, the total data usage is 232 GB in one month, but the data usage is distributed differently between Denmark and EU+.
Scenario A: The user is only in Denmark
The user spends the entire month in Denmark and uses a total of 232 GB of data.
As the user has used up the subscription's included data allowance of 100 GB DK data, the 1st top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB DK data.
As the user has used up the 100 GB DK data from the 1st top-up, the 2nd top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB DK data.
The user then uses 32 GB DK data from the 2nd top-up package.
Scenario B: The user is only in the EU outside Denmark
The user spends the entire month in the EU outside Denmark and uses a total of 232 GB EU data.
As the subscription's included EU fair use limit of 50 GB is used up, the 1st top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB of data, of which 50 GB is EU data.
The included 50 GB EU data in the 1st top-up is subsequently also used, and the 2nd top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB of data, of which 50 GB is EU data.
The same occurs with the 2nd and 3rd top-up, after which the 4th top-up occurs.
The user ends up using 32 GB EU data from the 4th top-up's 50 GB EU data before the end of the month. Had the user consumed data beyond the 4th top-up, the remaining data usage would be charged at the applicable rates.
Scenario C: The user is in Denmark and the EU – EU data usage mid-period
The user starts the month in Denmark. After using 79 GB of data, the user travels to another EU+ country, after which data usage continues as EU data.
As the user has used a total of 100 GB of data (79 GB data in Denmark and 21 GB EU data), the 1st top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB of data, of which 50 GB is EU data.
The included 50 GB EU data in the 1st top-up is then used up, and the 2nd top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB of data, of which 50 GB is EU data.
After this, no more data is used in the EU+ before the user returns to Denmark. In Denmark, the user then uses 82 GB of data from the 2nd top-up.
At the end of the month, the user has used a total of 82 GB of the 100 GB of data in the 2nd top-up.
Scenario D: The user is in the EU and Denmark – EU data usage early and late in the period
The user starts the month in an EU country outside Denmark. After using 48 GB EU data, the user travels to Denmark.
As the user has used a total of 100 GB of data (48 GB EU data and 52 GB data in Denmark), the 1st top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB of data, of which 50 GB is EU data.
The user then uses an additional 100 GB of data in Denmark, and the 2nd top-up occurs with an additional 100 GB of data, of which 50 GB is EU data.
The user then returns to the EU country and uses a total of 32 GB EU data from the included 50 GB EU data in the 2nd top-up before the end of the month.
